Orange Marmalade with Spiced Rum, Almond Flavoured Liqueur and Lime Juice
Variations on the Planter's Punch theme have been around since rum was first invented in the 1700's from the sugar plantations of Jamaica. Glorious scenes of plantation life are soon shattered in one of cinema's best loved fims 'Gone With The Wind' (1939). We believe the 'Planters' name comes from the Hotel in which it was first invented.
Believe it or not, we were relaxing under the shade of a palm tree on holiday in Jamaica on Christmas Day 2008, taking in the beautiful scenery when my slumber was rudely shattered by Shelly who suddenly shrieked that when she got back home, the seville oranges would be in season, and she would make a rum punch marmalade - thats where this idea came from.
Planters Rum Punch is one of our personal favourites, and with every spoonful it brings back really happy memories! All of our batches are infused and flavoured using only Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and DiSaronno Amaretto.
