Blackcurrant Jam with Champagne and Creme de Cassis
A popular drink for receptions and soirees, as well as the ubiquitous cocktail hour, the Kir Royale blends creme de cassis, a blackcurrant liqueur with Champagne.
The Kir Royale was seen being enjoyed in the film 'The Philadelphia Story' (1940) by East Coast Socialite Tracy Lord (Katherine Hepburn) and Macauley Connor (James Stewart).
Rich, dark, tangy and fruity and just bursting with flavour, and one of our best sellers, this is absolutely gorgeous used as a cocktail base dropped into the bottom of a glass and filled up with your favourite bubbles.
Other uses passed onto us by our customers is as a gravy ingredient (use like redcurrant jelly), onto fresh crusty bread or as a topping on a steamed pudding, and even on cheese sandwiches - we know, mad...but it works!
