Orange Marmalade with Champagne
Like the Kir Royale, the Bucks Fizz is a popular drink for receptions, weddings and the like. Invented at the beginning of the 1920's and credited to the Bucks Club in London, the drink was the "top hat" amongst the glamorous flapper set.
As seen in the film 'Top Hat' (1935), Fred and Ginger enjoying Bucks Fizz and tapping around the screen to a fabulous score by the great Irving Berlin.
The Bucks Fizz is handmade in small batches using only seville oranges, offering a rich tangy flavour that compliments the delicate flavour of champagne which is added after cooking.
This is lovely as a breakfast treat on hot buttered toast, but also at any time of day swirled into a good quality vanilla ice-cream! Bucks Fizz can also be easily used as a topping for steamed puddings, or as a glaze for meat joints for example.
