Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd July 10 - 5pm
Middleton Light Railway, Moor Road, LEEDS LS10 2JQ
The Middleton Railway is the world’s oldest working railway running steam and diesel trains from Moor Road to Middleton Park. This will be running a steam train all weekend - timetable shows first
departure from Moor Road at 11am and last one at 4pm.
An extensive museum collection is on display in the Engine House and entry to this is free.
There will be free workshop tours and cab rides in the locomotives for a small extra charge. It is run entirely by volunteers, so if you choose not to pay to ride the trains you are invited to make a donation.
You can combine unlimited rides on the train with a visit to the park, and this makes a fun day out for all the family. Admission is usually £5 adult, £2.50 child, £13 family (2 adults + up to 3 children). This will be discounted on production of some sort of the LSM flyer.
There is a shop that sells souvenirs, sweets and hot and cold drinks. This is going to be expanded into the seating area having more cakes so we have a tearoom - huzzah!.
There will be coffee jousting on both days with medals for the 1st and 2nd place and the Coffee Bean (host) made by Captain Cumberpatch's Curious Creations.
Please note that there is easy disabled access to all of the building including the upstairs conference room and public areas of the railway. This will be an interactive event, with traders in the Engine House and conference room.
There will also be a fund raising raffle run on both days as well for The Mercury Phoenix Trust so would like all traders to donate a little something for this. This is a cause that we have decided on as 2016 will be the 25th anniversary of Freddie Mercury's death and he should have been 70. With us being huge Queen fans, plus with this being a railway with steam trains (think of the video for "Breakthru"), this is a prime opportunity for Si to trim his tash and be "Freddie for a day" (or two) :) http://
The Flying Squadron with Frankie the owl demonstrating his charm and style will also be in attendance. https://www.facebook.com/
